Youtap’s customers continue to roll out Youtap’s payment platforms across Africa. Recently, Airtel Zambia launched its Airtel Money ‘Tap and Go’ service. Airtel Zambia announced the launch at an event held in cooperation with food retailer Zambeef. Airtel Money ‘Tap and Go’ will enable Zambeef customers pay for their meat products with mobile money simply by tapping their mobile phones and entering a PIN at the point of sale.
Speaking at the launch event at Zambeef’s Mtendere Macro outlet, Airtel Money Manager Tukuza Lungu said:
“Tap and Go is a new and exciting offer from Airtel Money that allows customers to pay for goods and services using the ‘Near Field Technology’ (NFC) on their mobile phone. This significant development is in line with the national efforts of moving our country towards being technologically proficient by finding ways to innovate services to benefit the community at large,” he added.
With the Tap and Go service, transactions are completed much faster than using the conventional way of using mobile money.
